Chevrolet unveiled its diesel sipping Cruze compact at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show yesterday, taking aim at the likes of the Volkswagen Jetta TDI.
With its 2.0L turbocharged diesel, the new Chevrolet Cruze Diesel makes 148 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet hasn’t announced any official MPG numbers for the new Cruze, but expect that when paired to the car’s 6-speed automatic, that it should hit 42 MPG on the highway.

For $25,695 you get a pretty loaded Cruze as well as the diesel engine, ensuring some value in every ounce of the vehicle.
